THERAPY FOR PREGNANCY LOSS IN INDIANA
Connection, support , and compassion.
You feel lost in the sea of grief right now.
You are not alone. “Miscarriage” occurs in 1 in 4 women before 20 weeks gestation and 1 in 160 ending in stillbirth. It’s rarely talked about and is often met with uncomfortable reactions from others. Many women and birthing people are unsure of how to handle a perinatal loss. Especially when friends, families, and doctors are minimizing their grief.
You may have experienced loss due to transfers that did not work, miscarriage, and/or secondary infertility. Having support during this difficult time is so important. When there are multiple miscarriages, or a later term pregnancy loss, it makes it even more difficult to hope that you can have a healthy baby.
The people around you may want you to get over your loss quickly. They say well meaning phrases(I.e. you can always try again, you are only given what you can handle) , but they don’t know how much their words cut. You see your friends announcing their pregnancies. Their feelings of happiness have a way of pushing you deeper into isolation, guilt, and anger. You often wonder if it was your fault or if you could have prevented it. You just wanted your baby in your arms.
You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:
Rising grief and feeling deep guilt
Anger at the unfairness of it all
Wondering if you should try again
